Step by step

Children's model

Blue, green, orange, or white, with a cartoon face. The orange beak is the on/off button.

Get to know the parts

  • Medication cup with a flip-up lid on top; it holds up to 10 ml
  • Mist outlet on the front, where the mask or mouthpiece goes; the cap covers it between uses
  • On/off button: the orange beak on the front
  • Light on the front: shows charging, the cleaning cycle, and that it is running
  • Release button on the back, for taking the cup off
  • USB-C charging port on the back

Charging

  1. Plug it in

Plug the USB-C end of the cable into the charging port on the back and the USB-A end into a USB wall adapter or computer.

  2. Watch the light

The light stays yellow while it charges and turns green when the battery is full.

  3. Know your battery

A 15-minute charge gives up to two hours of use. If the nebulizer is put away for a while, charge it at least every two months to keep the battery healthy.

Each treatment

  1. Get ready

Wash your hands and make sure the cup, mask, and mouthpiece are clean and dry. Sit upright.

  2. Fill the cup

Open the lid and pour in the medication your doctor prescribed. Do not fill past 10 ml. Close the lid until it snaps shut.

  3. Attach the mask or mouthpiece

Take the cap off the front and push the mask or mouthpiece onto the round outlet. For babies and children, use a mask that covers both the nose and mouth.

  4. Turn it on and pick a speed

Press the on/off button. Press it again to switch between strong, medium, and weak. A steady mist and a blue light mean it is working.

  5. Breathe normally

Hold the nebulizer upright. Close your lips around the mouthpiece, or fit the mask over the nose and mouth, and breathe slowly and normally.

  6. Give it time

A 5 ml dose takes about 15 minutes on strong, 20 on medium, or 30 on weak. It turns itself off after 20 minutes; if medication is left, press the button to keep going.

  7. Finish

Stop when the sound changes or it switches off because the cup is empty. A few drops left in the cup is normal.

Giving a treatment to a child

Keep the mask snug against the face the whole time. Holding it even a little away from the face lets much of the medicine escape before it reaches the lungs. A crying child also breathes in less of it, so a calm moment, a favorite show, or a book really helps.

Tips

  • Keep it upright the whole time so the medication stays on the mist plate.
  • Use only the liquid medication or saline your doctor prescribed. Never plain water, oil, milk, or thick liquids.
  • Children should use it only with an adult watching. Never leave a child alone with it.

Cleaning, after every treatment

  1. Empty the cup

Pour out any medication left in the cup.

  2. Take the cup off when you need to

Press the release button on the back and push the cup forward to slide it off. Push it back on until it clicks.

  3. Clean the mask and mouthpiece

Take them off, then wipe them with a medical alcohol wipe or soak them to disinfect. Rinse under warm water and let them air dry.

  4. Run the self-cleaning cycle

Pour about 6 ml of clean water into the cup, close the lid, and hold the on/off button for about 5 seconds. The light flashes green and red while it cleans. Do not breathe in this mist.

  5. Wipe and store

Wipe the outside with a soft, dry, clean towel. Never rinse the nebulizer or put it in water. Put the cap back on and store it somewhere cool and dry.

Please don’t

  • Never touch the small metal mist plate inside the outlet with fingers, brushes, or anything hard.
  • Never run it with an empty cup.
  • Never set it on a heated surface.

If something is not working

Little or no mist
  • Add medication; there may not be enough in the cup.
  • Hold the nebulizer upright.
  • Very thick medications may not mist. Ask your pharmacist.
  • In a cold room, run 3 to 6 ml of hot water through it until it is used up (do not breathe it in), then try again.
The mist is weak
  • Charge the battery.
  • Tap the cup or give it a gentle shake to clear air bubbles, then restart.
  • Clear the mist plate: run 3 to 6 ml of water with 2 or 3 drops of vinegar until it is used up (do not breathe it in), then clean the cup.
  • If none of this helps, the mist plate may be worn out. Call us.
There is medication in the cup but no mist
  • Air bubbles can block the plate when you pour. Tap or gently shake the cup, then turn it on again.
A little medication is left at the end
  • That is normal. Stop when the sound changes or when it turns itself off.

Step by step

Adult model

Orange, with a round white power button and a small light above it.

Get to know the parts

  • Medication cup with a flip-open cover; it holds about 10 ml
  • Mist outlet on the front, where the mask or mouthpiece goes; the cap covers it between uses
  • Round power button
  • Light above the button: shows the speed, charging, and low battery
  • Release button marked PUSH on the back, for taking the cup off
  • USB-C charging port on the back, behind a small rubber plug

Charging

  1. Plug it in

Open the rubber plug on the back, plug in the USB-C end of the cable, and plug the USB-A end into a USB wall adapter or computer.

  2. Watch the light

The light is yellow while it charges and turns steady green when it is full.

  3. Unplug when it is full

Unplug the cable and close the rubber plug. The nebulizer will not run while it is charging.

  4. Know your battery

A 15-minute charge gives up to two hours of use. A flashing yellow light means the battery is low. If it is put away for a while, charge it at least every three months.

Each treatment

  1. Get ready

Wash your hands and make sure the cup, mask, and mouthpiece are clean and dry.

  2. Take the cup off

Press and hold the PUSH button on the back and slide the cup forward off the unit.

  3. Add the medication

Open the cup cover and pour in the medication your doctor prescribed: at least 1 ml, and no higher than the line on the cup. Close the cover tightly.

  4. Put the cup back

Slide the cup back on until it clicks. The small metal contacts between the cup and the unit need to be clean and dry, or it may not start.

  5. Attach the mask or mouthpiece

Take the cap off the front and push the mask or mouthpiece onto the round outlet.

  6. Turn it on and pick a speed

Press and hold the power button; the mist starts within about 2 seconds. Each short press changes the speed: green is low, blue is medium, yellow is high.

  7. Breathe normally

Hold it steady, relax, and breathe normally. Do not cover the vent holes on the mask.

  8. Finish

Near the end, tilt the front slightly toward you so the last drops reach the mist plate. It turns off when the cup is empty or after 20 minutes. To turn it off yourself, hold the power button for 1 second.

Tips

  • It needs medication or saline to run. With plain, tap, or distilled water in the cup it turns itself off.
  • If foam builds up and the mist stops, turn it off, shake it gently, and start again.
  • A buzzing sound can happen during treatment; a gentle shake usually quiets it. Do not shake it hard while the cup is full.
  • If the medication is gone but it keeps running, turn it off right away.

Cleaning, after every treatment

  1. Quick rinse

Empty the cup. Add about 2 ml of distilled water, close the cover, shake for 10 seconds, and pour it out.

  2. Run the self-cleaning cycle

Fill the cup with clean water and, with the unit off, hold the power button for about 5 seconds. The light cycles green, blue, and yellow while it cleans. It stops by itself after about 5 minutes, or hold the button for 1 second to stop it sooner.

  3. Wash the cup and mask

Take them off and rinse under warm running water for a minute. Wash them in warm water with a little dish soap (about 1 ml per liter). Use a soft brush on every surface and the mask's vent holes. Then rinse for another minute.

  4. Wipe the unit and contacts

Wipe the body with a damp cloth, then dry it. Clean the metal contacts on the unit and the cup with a cotton swab dipped in distilled water.

  5. Dry and store

Let everything air dry for at least 12 hours, or dry it with clean gauze. Put the cap back on and store it clean, dry, and out of direct sun.

  6. Disinfect now and then

Soak the clean cup and mask in 70% rubbing alcohol for at least 5 minutes. Rinse with distilled water for a minute, flushing the mask's vent holes. Let them dry completely.

Please don’t

  • Never put the main unit in water or any disinfectant. Wipe it only.
  • Never boil the parts, dry them in a microwave, or put them in a dishwasher.
  • Never clean it with harsh solvents such as benzene or paint thinner.
  • Never run it with an empty cup.

Questions

Good to know.

How do I use the self-cleaning setting?

Pour clean water into the cup (about 6 ml for the children's model) and close the lid. Hold the power button for about 5 seconds, until the light comes on and starts changing color. The nebulizer then runs in short bursts, switching itself on and off over and over to shake loose any medication left on the mist plate. Press the button again to stop it; the adult model also stops by itself after about 5 minutes. Do not breathe in this mist, and pour the water out when it is done.

Which model do I have?

The children's model is blue, green, orange, or white with a cartoon face, and its orange beak is the button. The adult model is orange with a round white power button.

Which mask should I use?

The smaller mask is for children and the larger one is for adults. A mask should cover both the nose and mouth. Adults who prefer to breathe through the mouth can use the mouthpiece instead.

Can I put plain water in it for a treatment?

No. Use only the medication or saline your doctor prescribed. The adult model turns itself off with plain or distilled water in the cup. Clean water is only for the cleaning cycle, and that mist should not be breathed in.

Why did it turn off by itself?

Both models stop after 20 minutes, and they also stop when the cup runs dry. On the adult model, a flashing yellow light means the battery is low, and a pulsing green light means the liquid is not reaching the mist plate.

Is it normal for a little medication to stay in the cup?

Yes. A small amount always stays behind. Pour it out after each treatment and do not save it.

Can I use it while it is charging?

No. Charge it first, then give the treatment. The adult model will not run while it is plugged in to charge.

When should parts be replaced?

Replace a mask that cracks, stiffens, or no longer seals, and the cup if it still will not mist after cleaning. Call us for replacement masks and mouthpieces.
